Tanner More Than Just a Scorer for Floyd County

Four years of hard work has paid off for one Floyd County High School senior.

Caleb Tanner has worked hard on the court one point at a time for the Buffaloes, Breaking the all-time VHSL career scoring record in an elimination game against Giles.

The previous record was at 2,687 set by Stacy Ervin of Twin springs in 1997, and that mark looks to be shattered as Floyd has more games to play in their quest for a state title.

Tanner who is described by his coach and teammates as extremely humble says the realization of his accomplishment hasn't fully set in yet. He also added his work ethic and drive to succeed is fueled by the fact he is overlooked by college basketball programs because of his size.

Needless to say the 6'1'' sophomore will make them all reconsider after shattering the old record in his quest for a state title.
