COLUMBIA, Md., Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CETECOM, a specialist in test and certification for wireless communication devices, has selected the R&S TS8980FTA-2 and R&S CMW500 wireless test platforms for conformance and network operators acceptance testing for LTE Release 10 carrier aggregation, IMS, VoLTE, RCS, E911 over IMS, A-GNSS, OTDOA and eCID.
As mobile phones have shifted from voice only to full multimedia devices at the center of all we do, the number of technologies included in the devices has increased dramatically. LTE-Advanced and IMS related features such as carrier aggregation, VoLTE and RCS are triggering an explosion of new test requirements designed to ensure the end-user's quality of service. Devices using VoLTE must support E911 over IMS for emergency services. Testing E911 over IMS involves the verification of the IMS protocol stack and location determination performance. Location based services technologies, such as the satellite based A-GNSS or LTE network based OTDOA, must be tested quickly and efficiently without adding significant cost or time to the testing and certification process. Meeting these challenges requires industry-leading test and certification systems, such as the R&S TS8980FTA-2 and R&S CMW500 that can seamlessly address the testing complexities of legacy, current and future technologies.
