Unsealed search warrants reveal new information in the death of a couple from Henry County.
The warrants reveal a name and relationships to the victims, but WSLS has chosen not to reveal the information because the person hasn't been charged.
The warrants are related to the human remains found in Franklin County. Investigators identified the person as 51-year-old Ricky Dodson. Dodson was found in the same place where deputies found Vicky Purdy's body in a burned out car in October. Family members said Dodson and Purdy were in a relationship for years.
Warrants did reveal that Purdy was shot in the head. It also says Purdy had a known substance abuse problem. Police recovered cell phone records between a person focused on in the warrants and Purdy. The messages indicated Purdy owed the person money for drugs. It also says a silver colored digital recorder was recovered from the person's home. Purdy's family says the recorder matched one she kept with her at all times.
No one has been charged in Purdy or Dodson's death. Franklin County Sheriff's Office could not confirm whether the person mentioned in the warrants was a suspect or person of interest.
