LAKE WALES, FL (WFLA) - A woman escaped from a police car after being arrested in Lake Wales Wednesday. Police are looking for 19-year-old Chelsea H. Stoudemire whose last known location was near Lewis Griffin Road.

Lake Wales Police officials said, Stoudemire and Kelvin L. Smith, 18, got into a fight in a public place on Wednesday near Druid Circle in Lake Wales and were both arrested.

After police finished the booking process, they left Stoudemire in the police car and went on to book Smith. Officers determined that she slipped one hand out of her handcuffs, reached out of the partially rolled down window and opened the door from the outside.

Police conducted a through search for her after she fled but they couldn't find her. According to the police report her last known location was in the area of Lewis Griffin Road and Lisa Street.

She is now wanted for the charges of escaped, petit theft and affray. Police ask anyone with any information on her whereabouts to call Lake Wales Police Department at (863) 678-4223 or Heartland Crime Stoppers at (800) 226-8477.

Officers said Smith was released with a notice to appear in court on the charge of affray.
