Wayne County man charged with felony conversion

DUDLEY, N.C. - The Wayne County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after receiving a larceny report for a stolen vehicle.

As a result of an investigation by the sheriff’s office, deputies arrested 45-year-old Jose A. Olivencia-Rosado, of Dudley.

He's charged with Felony Conversion and Obtain Property by False Pretense.

Deputies received the larceny report on Feb. 2, when the vehicle was left at a repair shop in Dudley for repairs. Deputies say when the owner when to check on the vehicle, it was gone.

Once deputies located the vehicles, they learned the owner of the repair garage sold it for scrap.

After follow up interview, deputies arrested Olivencia-Rosado and placed him under a $1,000 bond.
