SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

A Bristol man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested Wednesday after he gave Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office deputies a false name, while trying to bond his wife out of jail.

According to a SCSO news release, deputies received information that Derick Watson, 30, of Cherry Street, was in a black Cadillac in the parking lot of the sheriff’s office correctional facility.

When officers matched the description with Watson, they approached his vehicle and he identified himself as Jonathan Conard.

He told officers he did not have any identification on him, but did provide a social security number and a date of birth.

According to the release, officers learned that the information was false and reportedly gave him opportunities to correctly identify himself.

Officers pulled a photo of Watson, showed it to him and he then told officers his true identity.

Watson told authorities that he had come to the correctional facility to bond out his wife.

He was charged with criminal impersonation, as well as arrested on the outstanding warrant for a violation of probation.
