New Info: Man shot in Ayden identified

Posted: Updated:
Ayden police have released the name of a man shot in an apparent drive-by.

They say it happened Thursday night around 9:40 on Pitt Street.

Chief Barry Stanley says 22-year-old Kentrell Alston was shot in the stomach with a 22-caliber gun.

Alston was taken to Vidant Medical Center.

We're working to learn where he is now and more on his condition.

"We take all of these types of calls seriously, shooting calls or shots fired,” said Barry Stanley, Ayden police chief. “So we're going to be working around the clock until we can develop some more information."

Police continue to look for the suspect.

If you have any information you are urged to call the Ayden Police Department.
