A total of 80 jobs are headed for Smithville over a three-year period. Gov. Phil Bryant and officials from Behold Home, Inc. announced today the company is locating manufacturing operations. Behold Home is a start-up motion furniture manufacturing company started by veteran furniture manufacturers from northeast Mississippi. “I appreciate the team at Behold Home for locating these manufacturing operations in Smithville. The state has worked hard to support the redevelopment of Smithville since the tornado devastated the town three years ago, and the location of Behold Home and the creation of these new jobs is a great step in that direction,” Gov. Bryant said. “I thank the company for placing its confidence in our business climate and its trust in our workforce. I wish the company many years of success in northeast Mississippi.” A spokesperson for Behold Home says he's excited to be coming to Smithville. "Behold is committed to developing and commercializing motion upholstered furniture that is produced domestically,” said Behold Home President and CEO Lyle Harris. Harris went on to say that several factors were considered prior to choosing the manufacturing site, and Smithville was the best fit Behold Home's business model. The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for building modifications. Three Rivers Planning and Development District assisted with the project, as well.
