Armed robbers pistol whip Goldsboro McDonald's manager

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - One man is behind bars and another wanted in a fast food armed robbery.

It happened around 1:18 a.m. Monday at the McDonald’s located on Hwy 70 West in Goldsboro.

Police say two men armed with a handgun entered the business through the drive through windows while another stood outside as a lookout. Once inside, the suspects demanded money, forcing a manager and another employee into the office, where they pistol whipped the manager before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A short time later, a Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving the area and stopped it about a ¼ mile west of the restaurant. One occupant was positively identified as a suspect in the robbery. A search of the vehicle turned up a handgun and stolen money.
25-year-old William Earl Warren Jr was arrested and charged with (2) counts of 1st Degree Kidnapping, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon.  He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $255,000 Secured bond. 

Wanted in the incident is 25-year-old Joseph Simms. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigation into the incident is still underway to determine the identity of the third person involved in the crime.
