4 arrested after Duplin County meth lab bust

Posted: Updated:
PINK HILL, N.C. - Four people are behind bars after a meth lab bust in Duplin County.

Sheriff Blake Wallace says the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on a home at 214 Kitty Noecker Road around 8 a.m. Friday. That’s just outside of Pink Hill.

Wallace says four adults who live at the home were arrested. 31-year-old Nicholas Powell, 32-year-old Jillian Houston, 28-year-old Katie Garrett and 24-year-old Joshua Gross are all charged with manufacturing meth, maintaining a dwelling for manufacturing meth and possession of meth.

"Every county has a drug problem," said Sheriff Blake Wallace. "It's a matter of whether or not law enforcement wants to address the issue head on. That's what we do here, and we'll continue to do."

Wallace says two children, ages 7 and 9, also live at the home but were at school at the time of the arrests. Those children are now in the care of DSS.
