UPDATE: Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes confirmed to News Channel 11 that William Rood has died from injuries he sustained after a truck fell on him.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes confirmed that deputies are investigating an accident where a truck reportedly fell on a man and nearly crushed him.

The incident happened at 968 Highway 91 in Stoney Creek.

According to Mathes, the man was taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.

News Channel 11 first learned of the accident from the Carter County Sheriff's Office Twitter page this afternoon and our own Mike Lamia is headed to the scene.
