BLACKSBURG - Update 8:30 p.m.

Blacksburg Police, assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Virginia Tech Police Department executed a search warrant at the 1203 building of University Terrace, which is located on Progress St.

The warrant was executed for the New River Regional Drug Task Force.

The search warrant was a result of a drug investigation conducted by the NRRDTF in reference to manufacturing an illicit drug.

Police say the entire building was evacuated for safety precautions after the drug lab was found.

A Haz-Mat team was on hand, along with Blacksburg Fire and Rescue.

Police, Fire, Haz-Mat and Rescue are still on scene and removal of the lab is ongoing.

The process is expected to take several hours, and nobody at the apartment complex have reported any symptoms or injuries.
