Largo teen charged in connection with stabbing

CLEARWATER, FL (WFLA) -

Pinellas County sheriff's deputies have arrested and charged a Largo man with two counts of attempted murder.

Armando Sevilla-Cruz, 18, of 911 Highland Ave. in Largo, is being held at the Pinellas County Jail.

About 9 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the Sun Terrace Mobile Home Park, 5860 150th Ave. N., Lot #407, for a call of a multiple stabbing, Pinellas County sheriff's Sgt. David DiSano said in a news release.

When they arrived , they found two victims, Stephanie Santiago and Henry Minniefield, who both had chest wounds. The two people were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They both were last listed in stable condition, the release states.

During the investigation Saturday, Sevilla-Cruz was identified as the suspect. According to victims and witnesses, Sevilla-Cruz arrived at the mobile home early Saturday morning and an altercation began.

During the fight, Sevilla-Cruz pulled out a knife and stabbed Santiago and Minniefield in the chest, the release states. Sevilla-Cruz fled the scene but was caught by deputies a short time later.

Sevilla-Cruz told authorities he stabbed the victims, the release states.
