JACKSON, Miss. - Jackson Police Department confiscated a substantial amount of marijuana along with other drug paraphernalia during a raid earlier this week.
JPD Public Information Officer Colendula Green said the department's vice and narcotic unit executed a search warrant at a home on Flora Street on Tuesday.
Officers seized six marijuana plants, 17 additional cups filled with pot, two lighting boxes, a plastic growing incubator, thermal reflective sheeting, digital scales, a heating pad, two fans, several bottles of fertilizers, cube seed starters, a PH testing meter, and more than $250.
The suspect, 30-year-old Jamal Maxon, is charged with manufacturing marijuana within 1500 feet of a church. The items seized during this raid led to the search of another home on Marks Avenue. During that bust, officials found another two and a half pounds of marijuana.
No one was arrested during this bust, but police are looking for two additional suspects connected to this case.
