Largest class in PCC history graduates

WINTERVILLE, N.C. - Celebration and hope filled Minges Coliseum as students from Pitt Community College walked across the stage Monday night to get their diplomas.

The class of 2014 has more than 1,100 students. 500 of them walked across the stage.     
    
Alumnus and Farm Life Elementary School principal Jonathan Tribula addressed the class of 2014 telling the graduates to put the "extra" in extraordinary.
    
Grads say they're happy to have finished and look forward to the next chapter in their lives.

Tonight's class is the largest graduating class in PCC history.

Pitt Community College is preparing to graduate 1,115 students with the Class of 2014 on Monday.

PCC says this year’s graduating class received a total of 1,860 credentials. The college had 363 students finish in December and expects to graduate 752 students this spring pending final grades.

PCC's annual spring commencement is at 7 p.m. in Minges Coliseum on ECU's campus.

Alumni and elementary school principal Jonathan Tribula will address members of the college’s 2014 graduating class. Tribula achieved a 4.0 GPA and graduated from PCC with his associate degree in 1999.

He went on to earn a bachelor’s in Public Policy Analysis at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Masters of School Administration through East Carolina University.

He's currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Tribula lives in Kinston with his family and is the principal of Vanceboro’s Farm Life Elementary School.
