"My wife was in the bed and my middle daughter came in and she was like 'the baby's just been shot'. And we was looking at each other and I was just like no. I couldn't believe it could be true," Armon's Grandfather, Shannon Harris said.

The family attended his grandson's funeral this weekend but the investigation into Burton's death has been frustrating, Harris said.

"We try to put out so much information to JPD but in many ways we got turned away. There's roadblocks put up," Harris said.

Now Hinds County is working another angle.

"This was or is a sinister act. To shoot and kill a three-year-old child," District 1 Supervisor Robert Graham said.

"And I think that it's something that we have to show outrage that we're not going to stand for it as a community and a county. Having said that...I'm requesting the Hinds County Board of Supervisors prepare a request," Supv. Graham said.

That request is to Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers. They are asking to raise the award amount from $1,000 to $2,000.

A kind gesture but family members said they are unsure if it will help.

"Honestly I feel there's people out there who know more than what they're saying. But, to that person, I don't think that money is going to matter. but you have to look at it like this: if it was your child would you want someone to say something to you about it? Tell who done it?" Harris said.
