Body Pulled Out of Lake Caroline

UPDATE: The motorist who was believed to be in Lake Caroline after crashing into a guardrail has been found, officials say.

Madison County EMA Director confirmed that rescuers pulled the victim's body from the water. Officials are not releasing the identity yet. The driver is a 27-year-old male from the Lake Caroline area, Madison Police Chief Deputy Jeremy Williams said.

MADISON, Miss. - Rescue crews are searching Lake Caroline for a motorcyclist that they believe was thrown into the water after a crash. 

Authorities got the call around 4:30 a.m. after someone reported seeing the bike hit a guardrail.

Evidence indicates that male was thrown from the bike into Lake Caroline at the dam, according to Chief Deputy Jeremy Williams. The dam is blocked to thru traffic.

A dive team was sent into the water to search for the driver.

Drivers should go around the spillway using Highway 22. Boaters have been asked to stay out of the lake and the clubhouse is closed.

Authorities are still out searching the area.
