A little boy is in the hospital recovering after being attacked by a pit bull Wednesday afternoon.
It happened Wednesday in the 200 block of Queen Anne Lane.

Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department tells us the 5-year-old was attacked just after 3 p.m.
Neighbors say the child was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
According to officials the 5-year old is in stable condition.
Jason Weston lives across the street from the family with the pit bull and he says he has never seen the dog, but he could tell the pit bull sounded aggressive.

"I would never think the dog would attack the kids, I guess maybe they didn't have it tied up, but I don't know, but they shouldn't have had the kids back there with the dog anyways," says Weston.
The pit bull was picked up by animal control, however, we don't know the fate of the dog.
