Jackson Police continue to the search for the person responsible for killing a 3-year-old boy.
On May 22, Armon Burton was sleeping in his bed on Queen Marie Drive in Jackson when he was shot and killed. Armon’s family says he was caught in the crossfire of adults, who were fighting over a dog.
Following the death of Armon, Jackson Police reached out the public in a Thursday morning press conference asking for help finding his killer.
Armon’s grandfather, Shannon Harris says the investigation into the case has left him frustrated.
“Honestly, I feel there are people out there who know more than what they’re saying,” said Harris.
Hinds County officials are working another angle to help solve the case. The Hinds County Board of Supervisors has asked Crimestoppers to raise the reward amount from $1,000 to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
“Call the hotline. Use the tip line. We don’t want your name. Just the information,” said Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance during the press conference.
If you have any information about the shooting, authorities urge you to contact police.
