DURHAM, N.C. -

A huge diaper delivery was made to a Durham charity Friday morning after a thief stole thousands earlier this week.

Pampers donated 40,000 diapers to the Diaper Bank of North Carolina following the theft. The diaper bank helps low income families in need. More than 13,000 diapers were stolen from a church were the diapers were kept June 2.

After putting out a plea for help, the community came through for the non-profit. Central North Carolina Provisions is providing storage space and moving equipment.

"I never expected the response we got," said Diaper Bank founder Michelle Old. "It has been heartwarming. It's been overwhelming but at the same time not only have we got this response in diapers and generosity we are seeing the need across the country."

The diapers are being stored in a secret location to prevent future thefts. Babies R Us and Huggies also plan to make donations to the diaper bank in the next few days.
