JACKSON, MS - Tom Cruise is back on the big screen with his sci-fi adventure Edge of Tomorrow, a movie that follows a cowardly PR officer on the front lines who inherits the power to start the day over every time he dies. Intriguing, yes? But sometimes the best concepts for a story don't translate well to the screen, so we sent Bret and Joe to Tinsel Town in Pearl to give us their thoughts on the latest summer blockbuster.
BRET: I'm giving this one a big SEE IT. This is a movie that made me think, and those are few and far in between. The story concept is excellent and original, the performances are great, and I'm already making plans to see this one again. But my advice? Don't see this one in 3D. It's too dark, the 3D makes the images seem blurry, and you'll want to catch every detail of this one.
JOE: Despite a few problems, I give this one a SEE IT. The first half of this movie is fantastic but it starts to run out of steam in the last thirty minutes. But while it's not my favorite movie, I did enjoy the film, and it's definitely one of the better summer films I've seen this year.
