Pasco bus assistant charged with hitting autistic child

PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -
Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 57-year-old school district employee on child abuse charges.
James Robert Lambert was booked into the Pasco County Jail just after 9 p.m. Friday. He was released at 2 a.m. Saturday after posting a bond of $10,000. His arrest report lists a Hudson address.
According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report Lambert struck a 10-year-old autistic child in the face with his hand. The report states the child began yelling profanities on the bus the suspect was working as an assistant. Lambert yelled back at the boy, walked to the back of the bus and intentionally hit him on the left side of his face with an open hand.
Investigators announced the incident was caught on video and that the video will be made available to media on Monday.
