JACKSON, Miss. - A homeowner scared away two men when he fired a gun at them as they were trying to jump his fence.

JPD officers responded to the scene at a house on Spryfield Road.

Brandon Ballenger said his dogs started barking around 9 a.m. Thursday and when he looked into his backyard, he saw two men climbing over the fence.

He said  fired two shots from his Ruger 9 millimeter pistol, and the men jumped back over the fence. Ballenger said he is not sure if the two men were hit.

He said they were wearing jeans, long sleeve black shirts, bandannas over their mouths, sunglasses, and Afro wigs.
