GREENEVILLE, TN (WJHL) - Greeneville is abuzz with excitement and News Channel 11 has a clue as to why. Kimberly Perry, the lead singer of The Band Perry tied the knot to Texas Rangers catcher J.P. Arencibia.

From the small town to the big stage, The Band Perry’s fame has exploded. In the midst of the lights, cameras, and action of country music superstardom, the sibling trio has never forgotten their roots in the town of Greeneville.

Whether they’re back home visiting with fans, launching their new album with a free concert or making a hefty donation to the Greeneville Humane Society – Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry never failed to share their “big” moments with the town that nurtured their growth to the top.

Thursday was certainly no different.

News Channel 11 was in downtown Greeneville at the height of the excitement for Kimberly’s wedding day.

Our news crew spotted Kimberly in a wedding dress Thursday evening surrounded by an entourage carrying umbrellas, possibly to shield the singer’s dress from cameras.

The umbrellas came down just in time for the bride to walk down the aisle – just moments away from marrying the man of her dreams, former University of Tennessee catcher and current Texas Rangers catcher Arencibia.

Also spotted were Kimberly's brothers, also of The Band Perry, and her mother making their way into the chapel.

Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher were spotted leaving the wedding ceremony Thursday evening. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were also rumored to be invited guests, but News Channel 11 does not have the photos or video to support that.

Perry got engaged to Arencibia, last September, at her parent’s home in Greeneville.

The Band Perry lead singer could have chosen any exotic destination in the world to tie the knot. Home is where the heart is.
