Hinds County Board of Supervisors Meeting
HINDS COUNTY, Miss. - The Hinds County Board of Supervisors had their regularly scheduled meeting Monday morning.
The big topic of discussion was the three Tea Party members who were found locked inside the Courthouse on election night.
Supervisors talked about drafting an ordinance that would keep people from entering the courthouse or any other county building after hours. They decided to wait before taking any action. The supervisors want to get a report from the District Attorney after its investigation is complete before they move on an ordinance.
Scott Brewster, Janis Lane, and Rob Chambers are all supporters of State Senator Chris McDaniel. McDaniel, is running against incumbent U.S. Senator Thad Cochran in the Republican Primary run-off next Tuesday.
The McDaniel campaign says they were there to watch the vote count on the night of the primary election. Investigators from the Hinds County Sheriff's Department say, they were found locked in a common area of the courthouse.
They say the three got in through a door that was either left propped open or was malfunctioning.
