ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. -- No US Open titles were won like the dominant performance Martin Kaymer put together last week, but there was some pretty good golf being played at Doe River Gorge Monday.
It was the 18th annual golf challenge at The Ridges' Blackthorn Club, and it brought out some good talent for a good cause.
The money from the event was going toward funding Doe River Gorge's mission to raise kids with positive values and morals, and though the golf was good, that's what the day was all about.
"When a young person comes to Doe River Gorge, we want them to experience fun, adventure, acceptance and love," said Director of Operations Ken Stoltzfus. "The money we raise at this tournament helps us conduct the fun programs the kids love to experience."
