It's those health issues that are the reason that Andy doesn't get out and about as often as he'd like to. He still has a goal - trying to hit these streets at least once a day - but sometimes that pain is just too much. "Like I said, it's hard to walk these hills. Sometimes I stop and rest even before I can even get up there. I have low oxygen. I need oxygen. If I stay off that oxygen too long it'll get to where they won't hardly go at all," Lagrone said. "Like I said, it's hard to walk these hills. Curious and suspicious minds have been asking...

"No, I haven't seen him around lately," a young man near the corner of Fortification and North State Streets said.

...where is Elvis?

"You can't miss him," a middle-aged man on a bike said. He carried a bag of fast food.

"I see him just walking from that side of the street over there and come up to McDonald's and just get some coffee or whatever he's going to get. Maybe he'll just get up and leave," he said.

"He got the haircut. He got the haircut like Elvis. Like really like him but a bigger version," the younger man added.

"I haven't seen him lately so I don't know where he's at," he said.

Well "Elvis" isn't at the heartbreak hotel, but he's staying at 'The Admiral Extended Stay Hotel'. He has dark black hair...

"Walgreens told me to buy the Revlon. It's a lady's color but it stays in longer. And it's cheaper."

...large sunglasses...

"Keeps the sun off. I wear 'em for the sun."

...sideburns...

"You have to be careful when you shape 'em up. Try to cut 'em the same length."

His name is Andy Lagrone.

"I sold my two cars and I've walked all these years everywhere I go so people can see me walk," Lagrone said.

"My uncle, one of my uncles, cleaned the gate at Graceland - the gate around Graceland. And he took me to work one day. I was young and I saw Elvis go in the Graceland door from a distance," Lagrone said.

From age 17 and on lagrone said he grew out his sideburns. Now he's outlived his idol and as he grows older he admits his health is all shook up.

"Yes sir. I developed diabetes and have high blood pressure. Had the gout. Have arthritis," he said.

"Like I said, it's hard to walk these hills. Sometimes I stop and rest even before I can even get up there. I have low oxygen. I need oxygen. If I stay off that oxygen too long it'll get to where they won't hardly go at all," Lagrone said.

It's those health issues that are the reason that Andy doesn't get out and about as often as he'd like to. He still has a goal - trying to hit these streets at least once a day - but sometimes that pain is just too much.

So Lagrone said, for encouragement, he doesn't mind if the next time you see him you say "hello", ask him how he's doing, and even call him Elvis.

That's the name he actually prefers.

"I like that cause I'm a big Elvis fan. I lived in Memphis 18 years and all these years I've tried to keep my sideburns like his," Lagrone said.

"I get up every morning about 4 o'clock in the morning. I can't sleep but so many hours and I have to wake up. I have to get up," Lagrone said.

"Now I have problems with my lungs and bronchitis. I mean, the doctor said i'm just a walking time-bomb with all these diseases but I don't let it stop me from going," Lagrone said.

"They even tell me to get en electric chair but as long as I can walk, I'm going to walk," Lagrone said.

Lagrone adds that it's not cheating that he dyes his hair. He said not many people know 'the King' dyed his too...

...albeit, with the help of professionals.
