HOUSTON, Miss. - A pilot had to make an emergency landing Wednesday, at a north Mississippi airport after the aircraft was hit by severe wind-shear while landing.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. The pilot made the emergency landing at the airport in Houston. The pilot and four others escaped without any serious injuries. Dan Campbell, who was operating the aircraft, said the plane did a ground roll and slid into a ditch on the south of the runway and caught fire.
The two-engine aircraft had left Memphis to pick up a passenger in Houston and its next stop was Louisiana. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.
