Highway 49 in Rankin County flooded after heavy rainfall
Inches of rainfall have already fallen and it's not over yet.
In Rankin County, some drivers are nervous about what the road conditions will be like over the next couple of days.
"Waters over the road and in ruts and your vehicle will hydroplane before you know it," says driver, Francis Williams.
Many cars have already hydroplaned from the slick roads.
Wednesday afternoon a car went off the side of Interstate 220 northbound.
Also, flood waters are already covering some areas on Gallatin Street in Hinds County.
A portion of Highway 49 in Rankin County was flooded for part of the day on Wednesday.
Drivers in the area say not only do you have to slow down yourself, but you also need to pay attention to other drivers.
"Being aware of my surroundings looking at other traffic on the other side on the road in case they hydroplane into me," says driver, Robert Rasberry.
