Hinds County GOP Chair, Pete Perry arrested for DUI
Hinds County GOP chairman, Pete Perry was arrested Saturday night and charged with DUI.
The Leake County Jail confirms with News Channel 12, Perry was arrested for DUI and later released on recognizance bond at 10:59 p.m. Saturday night.
64-year-old Perry was arrested by Carthage police at 8:25 p.m. Saturday night then jailed with the Leake County Sheriff's Department.
Perry lives in Jackson and is from Leake County.
According to the Clarion Ledger, Perry is thought to have been returning from his fair cabin in Neshoba County because cabin owners are starting to prepare for the Neshoba County Fair which begins July 25.
Perry is the chairman of the Hinds County Republican Party and has been the center of a possible challenge in the Republican primary runoff for U.S. Senate.
