Sheriff's Deputies arrested 25-year-old Alyssa Standeford. She is charged with DUI, manslaughter culpable negligence, and driving with a suspended license.
Authorities say Standeford told them she ran over 25-year-old Kory DeWitt by accident.
DeWitt had been driving and parked the vehicle on the side of the road and got out. Standeford crawled into the driver seat to pull the car off the road some more. Authorities said she told them she realized she hit DeWitt when he started yelling.
When the deputy spoke with Standeford, she said she had taken Xanax earlier in the day. She was taken to the emergency room to have blood and urine samples done. Once she was taken back to the Sheriff's Department, she was given a drug influence evaluation and was charged with DUI.
Her bond was set at $75,000 for manslaughter, $1,000 for the suspended license charge, and $2,500 for the DUI charge.
Authorities said this is her second offense.
