Greenville police make arrest after shots fired early Saturday

GREENVILLE, N.C. - One suspect was arrested after shots were fired in uptown Greenville early Saturday morning.

25-year-old Jyron Fitzgerald Fox was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within city limits, injury to personal property and injury to real property. He's in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $2,500 dollar bond.

Officers say the incident took place near Evans Street and Dickinson Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers patrolling the area at the time heard the shots fired and were able to stop a vehicle leaving the BB&T parking lot. That's when Fox was taken into custody.

No one was injured in the weekend incident.

An early-morning shooting leaves one car damaged in uptown Greenville.

According to an East Carolina text alert the shooting happened just after 2:30 on Saturday morning near  Dickinson Avenue and  Evans Street.

The alert says one car was hit by what appeared to be gunfire.  No one was injured during the incident.
There is no threat to the campus following this incident.

The Greenville Police Department is investigating this shooting.
