Crews respond to Greenville house fire

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Crews responded to a small house fire Saturday night.

At approximately 8:41 Saturday night Greenville Fire and Rescue responded to 930 S Evans St to investigate the smell of smoke inside of the home.

Eight minutes after crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the attic of the two-story residential home. All of the occupants were already safely outside.

Greenville Police blocked off sections of Evans Street near Fire Tower Road so Greenville Fire and Rescue could respond to the house fire.

Firefighter crews quickly located and extinguished the attic fire. Deputy Fire Marshal Bryan Beddard investigated the fire, and determined that it was an unintentional electrical fire that started in the attic over the attached garage.

No injuries were reported. The occupants of the home will be staying elsewhere until repairs are made.

9 On Your Side is working to learn more details and will bring them to you as they become available.
