Man Tries to Rob Hazlehurst Convenience Store; Arrested after Police Chase

HAZLEHURST, Miss. - One person is headed to jail after taking police on a chase after he tried rob a convenience store on Wednesday.
Authorities say a man entered the Circle K on Highway 28 around 11:27 p.m. and demanded money. He didn't get any and left the store. He did not show a weapon during the incident.
The clerk called authorities and gave a description of the vehicle. Officers spotted the vehicle and there was a pursuit from Copiah County into Hinds County. The suspect crashed his vehicle near Terry High School and was taken into custody.
Miketwon Jordan is charged with robbery, felony fleeing, and several traffic violations. Jordan was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries from the crash.
