TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

All week long schools across the Bay area have been opening their doors for back-to-school 2014. Today The University of South Florida opened its doors but it was so more than five thousand students could move into their dorm rooms.

The school also rolled out a seven hundred student welcome wagon that helped new comers move their furniture and clothes into their rooms.

"We are helping people move into their residence halls. And we are like unloading the cars and bring it into the dorm and showing them where their dorm is and everything," said Ally Lindsay who is part of the volunteer group called Bull Haulers.

"I just really like to t help out and this my third time doing it and I have never had help moving in. I have always moved in early and I don't know it's a fun experience," said Bull Hauler Monique Reynolds.

The entire USF football team took a break from practice to lend a hand to help incoming students get settled in their rooms.

"Yeah we got practice but we are helping the new comers... I know it's hard moving in. Hard for the parent dropping their child off to college so we just want to give them a good vibe, said USF defensive back Johnny Ward."

The move in is part of the university's "Week of Welcome" and they have planned more than one hundred events for a hole week to welcome students back to campus.
