Brandon Raines

Brandon joined the WJTV/WHLT team in June 2022. He is a native of Lucedale, Mississippi.

After spending two years as a news producer at WKRG in Mobile, Ala., he decided it was time to expand his journalism skills and become an MMJ.

Brandon is thrilled to return to his home state for the next chapter of his career.

Before his time in the newsroom, Brandon graduated cum laude from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Journalism and a minor In Sociology.

While at South, Brandon served as a student investigative reporter, anchor, and radio host. He also served as president of the university’s mental health awareness organization, Active Minds.

Brandon decided to enter the field of journalism to give a voice to those with a story to tell, often-times, focusing on social issues.

While not in the newsroom, you can catch Brandon attending local musical theatre productions, traveling with friends, or listening to true crime podcasts.
