Kayla B. Hudson joined Storm Team 12 in September of 2023. She is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. This is her first broadcast meteorology position, and she is excited to see where this journey leads her.
Kayla graduated from Jackson State University with distinction where she obtained a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Marketing. During her matriculation, Kayla was the president of community service and women empower group, Girl’s Coalition, as well as the senior class president, a title holder of several pageants, a sponsored content creator for various companies, and a dedicated member of the Gamma Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
She interned with Department of Homeland Security, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, and the United States Golf Association. Her greatest achievement being a published scientific journalist.
Kayla’s passion for weather began through science fair projects in elementary school. She enjoys research and helping others. When she isn’t on air she loves styling outfits, going to the spa, and watching reality TV.
