Noah Newman joined the WJTV news team as Sports Director in April of 2019. The Cleveland, Ohio native is thrilled to be living out his lifelong dream of being a broadcaster in a big-time sports market.
Noah attended the University of Dayton, where he spent four years working for the school’s radio and television stations. He also hosted a three-hour morning sports show on WJCU – John Carroll University Radio with co-hosts DJ Mumbles, the Archivist, and Wylie Stemple.
Shortly after graduating, Noah moved to Taylorville, Illinois to work for the Miller Media Group of radio stations – anchoring newscasts, hosting talk shows, and doing play-by-play for local sports teams.
Noah made the transition from radio to television in the summer of 2010 when he joined the WAND news team in central Illinois as the Champaign bureau chief. After a couple months in news, he moved to the sports department as a reporter and anchor, covering the Big Ten, Missouri Valley, and Ohio Valley conferences as well as high school sports.
Noah is the youngest of four boys. He’s a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He loves dogs, Cleveland sports, fantasy football, and is a huge movie buff. His favorite movie is the Godfather (1 and 2).
