Shay O’Connor is a New Orleans native!
She graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana. She is excited about making Jackson her new home!
Shay decided to pursue a career in journalism while in junior high after watching news coverage on the damage Hurricane Katrina left in her hometown.
In college, Shay majored in Mass Communications, with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. She wrote for the Xavier Herald during her collegiate time.
In her professional career, Shay worked at WVUE FOX 8 News, WWLTV Channel 4 News in New Orleans, and at Local 33 News in Baton Rouge as a Multimedia Journalist.
When she is not reporting, Shay loves painting, traveling and spending time with her family and dog Gizmo!
