Capitol Police officer tests positive for coronavirus

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – According to Minority Leader Robert Johnson (D), a Capitol Police officer in Jackson tested positive for the coronavirus.

Rep. Johnson said he received a message from Speaker Philip Gunn (R) confirming the officer tested positive for the virus.

He believes the officer contracted COVID-19 after the Legislature suspended the session.
