JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – As restrictions are lifted across Mississippi amid the coronavirus pandemic, renters will soon be on the hook for monthly payments.
Governor Tate Reeves announced landlord can begin evicting people for non-payments starting June 1, 2020.
The Mississippi State Department of Health announced on Wednesday that there have been 465 deaths from COVID-19. Forty-five percent of the deaths have been in long term care facilities.
Reeves’ administration said they’re resuming aggressive and strategic testing at LTC facilities, but they have not specifically outlined what that looks like.
In the back drop of this, the State Senate held a series of coronavirus hearings. This comes as the Legislature is close to finalizing a deal to help small businesses using CARES Act funds.
