VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – A man accused in the shooting death of a 69-year-old Vicksburg woman is denied bond.

Vicksburg Police said 33-year-old Rafael Arnez McCloud appeared in court on Wednesday before Judge Johnnie Price.

The Warren County Coroner said Sharen Wilson died of a gunshot wound to the head. Her body was found near the old Kuhn Memorial Hospital on Martin Luther King Blvd. Saturday.

Rafael McCloud was taken into custody by police in Leland along with his nephew, 20-year-old Akeem McCloud.

The two men were pulled over for reckless driving in a 2012 Nissan Murano, which was the victim’s car.

Charges have not been filed against Akeem McCloud; investigators are still trying to determine if he will be charged.

Outside of capital murder for this case, Rafael McCloud has several other separate charges: sexual battery, rape, arson, home invasion, weapon possession by a felony, grand larceny auto theft, and burglary.
