JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — House Bill 1523 has caused a movie to be on hold after an actress is refusing to film here in the Magnolia state.

Sharon Stone was set to star in a movie that would be filmed in Mississippi, but that went out the window when Gov. Phil Bryant signed the Religious Accommodations Act.

Rick Moore of Film Mississippi, said Stone was set to be the lead actress of a cyberbullying movie here in Mississippi. However, she changed her mind after the controversial bill was signed. We’re told that Stone said she didn’t feel comfortable shooting the movie in Mississippi.

Moore said it is very disappointing. He said it is still too early to tell how the bill will affect more potential moves coming to the state. He said most people he has talked with in the film industry are not fond of the bill.
