Big Black River reaches major flood stage

YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – According to the National Weather Service, the Big Black River near Bentonia has reached major flood stage.

Right now, the river is at 30.06 feet, and it’s expected to crest at 31 feet on Saturday.

This is the highest stage the Big Black River has reached since the 1983 flood. The record flood is 32.5 feet.
