SCOTT COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Authorities in Scott County are investigating after they found the body of a man in the water at a state park.
It happened Tuesday morning at Roosevelt State Park.
Sheriff Mike Lee said a camper spotted the body floating in the water near the shore and contacted officials.
The man’s identity has not been released, but we’re told he is a Hispanic male between 20 to 30 years old. There was no identification on him.
Sheriff Lee said it’s possible he was in the water for 24 hours.
Based on the boots they found near the shore, the sheriff said it appears as if he worked in the poultry industry in Scott County.
At this time, there is no indication of foul play.
