GIBSON, La. (AP) – A company says an explosion at its natural gas facility in Gibson has left four workers injured.
Williams Partners said an explosion and fire erupted at about 11 a.m. Thursday and injured four contractors who were doing maintenance at the facility at the time of the explosion.
The company said it could not confirm the severity of the injuries. Terrebonne Parish and state police officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
Williams Partners said the facility is owned by a subsidiary, the Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Company.
The company says the facility was shut down when the explosion erupted and that there was no gas flowing through its pipeline system.
The company says service to its customers has not been interrupted.
