WJTV – Conference USA announced on Monday that Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens is the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against North Texas.
Mullens threw for 325 yards and scored five total touchdowns in the Golden Eagles’ 49-14 win. That game was the fourth one this season where Mullens has thrown for more than 300 yards.
He was racking up big plays as well, completing six passes of 20-plus yards. As for the touchdowns, Mullens has thrown at least one touchdown in seven straight games.
It was another great game in a stellar junior season for Mullens. He ranks in the top five in the nation for passing yards with 1,691 yards. The junior also ranks in the top ten in the country in passing touchdowns with 14, while throwing just three interceptions.
Mullens and the Golden Eagles travel to play Marshall on Oct. 9.
