Tate Reeves became the nation’s youngest State Treasurer at the age of twenty-nine. But the Florence native actually got his professional start in the private sector in banking and finance. The Millsaps College graduate earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation and worked in investments until his election as Treasurer in 2003.
His roots, however, can be traced to his father’s heating and cooling business in Rankin County. Reeves says this is where he learned the value of hard work, what it means to grow your own business and to be responsible for signing the “front-end of a paycheck.”
Reeves served two terms as the state’s top finance officer and is completing his second term as Mississippi’s Lieutenant Governor.
