JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – According to data from the Marshall Project, Mississippi has the 10th safety prison system in the country when it comes to COVID-19 infections.
Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Burl Cain talked to 12 News about the data.
While visitations have been suspended to prevent visitors from infecting inmates, Cain said the department hopes to have video visiting in the Spring.
