MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The former Flora officer who was arrested in July for child molestation crimes has been indicted.

Officials tell us that 58-year-old James Alderman was arraigned in court on Thursday. He was indicted for gratification of lust.

The indictment states that Alderman willingly and unlawfully touched or rubbed the thighs and vaginal area two children who are under the age of 16.

WJTV learned last month that Alderman’s wife ran a daycare out of their home on Wilder Drive. We were told  at that time, that she kept three children and that the couple was also raising two of their grandchildren.

The victims in the case were allegedly abused in the home, but officials did not say if they were children who attended the daycare.

Alderman worked as a Flora police officer for about 25 years.
